That’s How I Knew

I've always loved the way our voices blend when I sing with Danica and Chuck. I wrote this just to hear us sing it. You know, true love is a wonderful thing; in fact, it may be the only thing worth singing about.

Every sun burns a hole in the sky
Until the light drains out
Leaving only stars behind.
In that night when the shadows are gone
I can feel your love
Even when I am alone

And if you ask how I knew
It was real, it was true--
I see it in the sky, I hear it in the wind,
I feel it in my heart, I taste it on your skin--
That’s how I knew.

Fickle love is no stranger to me,
Knocking on my heart
But when I open up she leaves.
Now I know a love that will not be denied
I can just let go
With all doubt cast aside.

And if you ask how I knew
It was real, it was true--
I see it in the sky, I hear it in the wind,
I feel it in my heart, I taste it on your skin,
I see it in your eyes, I hear it in your song
I can truly say: I feel like I belong--
That’s how I knew.
